On September 30, 2007, the National Development and Reform Commission entrusted BOT Investment Co., Ltd. to evaluate the Project Proposal for the Sea-crossing Channel of Quanzhou Bay in Fujian province. Our corporation immediately established a project expert term, made preliminary preparations for the evaluation work and set down detailed work schedules. The evaluation and expert team led by Wei Baisong, the Vice President, held a research meeting in Quanzhou, followed by detailed communication and discussions with relevant project institutions about the questions. After the comprehensive evaluation on the Project Proposal and the supplementary materials supplied by the project institutions, our corporation successfully completed the evaluation task on January 11, 2008, by submitting the document named “the Evaluation
Report for Project Proposal of the Sea-crossing Channel of on Quanzhou Bay in Fujian Province” to the National Development and Reform Commission.
The construction scope of this project : the total length of the main line is 28.7km with the length of the sea-crossing bridge of about 12.9km, and the length of connecting road linking the two coasts of about 15.8km.It will take four years to complete. After the evaluation, the adjusted budget of this project is RMB5.338 billion, of which the static investment is RMB4.796 billion.
The construction of this project is essential to the implementation of ?the West Coast transportation and development plan, to the development of regional comprehensive conveyance network and to the adaption of the development of the regional transportation. Upon the completion of this project, it will generate substantially social benefit of accelerating the development of the West Coast Economic Zone, the improvement of the ?Quanzhou ?port conveyance conditions, the implementation of the overall development of Quanzhou strategy, the promotion of of of the great cause of the national reunification of the cross Taiwan strait etc.
