On October 26, 2006, National Development and Reform Commission entrusted BOT Investment Co., Ltd. to evaluate the project proposal of Yangxin-Tongcheng Road in Hubei. Our corporation immediately established a project expert term, made preliminary preparations for the evaluation work and set down detailed work schedules. Wei Baisong, the Vice President led the evaluation and expert team to the project spot in Wuhan, Hubei Province to carry out investigation and held a research meeting, followed by detailed communication and discussions with relevant project institutions about the questions. After the comprehensive evaluation on the project proposal and the supplementary materials supplied by the project institutions, our corporation successfully completed the evaluation task on January 12, 2007, by submitting the document named “The Evaluation Report for the Project Proposal of Yangxin-Tongcheng Road in Hubei” to National Development and Reform Commission.
　The construction contents of the project include: the construction line of 202 km, the total length of the 137 bridges of 31.2 km, with that of the 91 super large and large ones of 28.4 km. The total length of the five tunnels is 3.4 km, with that of one long tunnel of 2.6 km. Four service areas, four parking areas, three maintenance areas, one administration center and 13 toll gates. The construction period is three years. The estimated investment is 8.62 billion yuan, containing 8.05-billion-yuan static investment.
　The construction of the project is necessary to perfect the national expressway network, to implement Hubei road network development plan, to perfect regional comprehensive transportation network system, and to adapt to regional traffic transportation development. The completion of the project will produce obvious social benefits such as, to implement the rising-up strategies for the middle part of China, to help the southeast part of Hubei become well-off, and to promote the regional tourist development and cooperation.
